I met Cliff about 3 years ago and what a privilege it is to work with such a fine artist! Cliff is one of the most sincere and genuine persons I have had the privilege to get to know. We wish you continued success and many blessings as you share your music with your fans! Your wife would have been very proud of you! Paul & Linda Evans, Ambassador Records,

Credits For Cliffys New CD - Just Plain Old Country
| Well Cliffy, of all the C.D’s I’ve ever played
on....this is one of them!! Just kidding...you’ve done a great job and
I love the material you’ve chosen. It’s very pleasurable to play on real
country tunes and your new C.D. is excellent; I mean it!
Thanks for having me be part of it! Bob Lucier |
| Good luck with the new C.D. Cliffy, we will
be looking forward to getting a copy of it. With all the great players
you have on it, it can’t help but be a masterpiece!
Again, best of luck with the new C.D.! Lloyd, Larry & Ray...The Mercey Brothers |
| I cut my first record in 1958. It was distributed
by Quality Records. Tommy Ambrose, Ronnie Hawkins, Cliffy Short, Jerry
Banks and myself were part of the new roster of releases.
Cliffy and I met for the first time in the waiting room of Quality Records. I saddled up to him right away. We were excited and slightly nervous, this was the big time and we were there to meet the ‘big wigs’, Harry Maislow and Dan Bass, to sign contracts. We met occasionally through the years on radio shows and at country events. Cliffy has a way of including people he likes in comedy skits (Mutt & Jeff kind of jokes). The people loved it and so did I. Cliffy, I’d be a straight man for you anytime! Love ya.....Dallas Harms |
| Having known Cliffy Short, and his late wife
Norma, I am honoured to write this short recommendation. His sincerity
and goodness are reflected in all that he does. This is especially true
of this C.D. which is a reflection of his love for his beautiful wife.
Cliffy is a man who knows what it is to love another person and to be loved.
Through his lyrics he shares the depths of that love and challenges you
to care for another person. He is truly a gift that is unwrapped in this
C.D.
I wish to thank Cliff for his generous spirit. May God be with you always! Father Norm Roberts, St. Joseph Parish, Streetsville, ON |
| It has been my pleasure to work with Cliffy.
This fella is short in stature but long on talent. If you want to know
the quality of a performer, you ask the musicians that accompany him. I’ve
never heard a derogatory remark made about Cliffy. A warm, considerate
and accomplished artist....that’s my feeling and you’ll
probably agree with me. This C.D. has got to be a winner! Gordie Tapp |
| am very pleased you took the time to
record some of the greatest Country Classics. You have chosen songs that
were not only your wife’s favorites, but I feel convey the best of Cliffy
Short.
You will please many people, with these Country Classics, and bring much happiness into the homes of your many fans. You have a great style, a warm pleasant voice, a sincere approach to your music and it certainly comes across in this album. Tommy Hunter, C.M.O., ON |
| Congratulations on the recording of your new
C.D.. I sincerely hope that it is a huge success for you!
I have fond memories of when we entertained together on radio, stage, and your frequent appearances with the Rhythm Pals on the Tommy Hunter Show on C.B.C. T.V. I wish you all the very best for future success. Jack Jensen...Lead Singer - Rhythm Pals |
| GREAT to hear that you’re still ROCKIN’....I
thought I was the only one who made it 50 years! From the Edison to Le
Coq d’Or to Ray’s Roadhouse - you never know who is gonna drop in!
WOW, we’ve had some times...and to be lucky enough to have our BONNEY around! Cliff, if we don’t make the BIG TIME in the next 50 years, let’s give up music and be gigolos! Keep ROCKIN!!!!! The Workin’ Girls’ Favourite - The Housewives Companion - The First and Last of the Teenage Idols - The Magnificent Silver-Tongued Orator - Adviser to Presidents... Ronnie “The Hawk” Hawkins |
