Chuck Simms was born in Grand Bank, Nfld., a beautiful small town on the Burin Peninsula. From an early age Chuck loved to sing. His father would play the accordion and he would sing along with his mother.

Chuck left the Island at an early age and worked with the coast guard  in St. John, New Brunswick for four years where he met Camile LeBlanc of the Bunkhouse Boys, a well known musical group.  Camile taught Chuck to play the guitar and from then on music was his first love. He left New Brunswick and moved on to Toronto, playing his music wherever he went. He worked at a few different jobs but always came back to music.

Chuck's unique voice, his special talent of writing  his own songs, combined with his pleasing personality have made him a favorite with his many fans. His music is a variety of Irish, Newfoundland and Country. He has traveled  across Canada from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island and as far north as Yukon with his music. His music is also played in Europe and is currently on the top of the charts in Australia, although he has never traveled to Europe.

In May of 2000, Chuck and his wife Ellen moved back to Newfoundland where he makes his home by the salt water. He spends several months of the year in Ontario performing at the many festivals and flea markets. He is a member of the CCMR, and performs on the main stage at their reunion which is held in Trenton, Ontario on the long weekend in August.
