About Us
From The Heart
A Memorial is held once a year in memory of country musician, Larry Dee. For one day in August he will be remembered by hundreds of people at the home of Paul & Charlene Wasson, when they stage their annual Musician's Corn Roast. The event started twenty years ago with about 40 to 50 people and today hundreds come through the gate. A modest admission is charged and all proceeds from the day's event go to a local charity.  What once started out as  a party, has now grown to quite a large event. Professional entertainers are brought in to headline the day's festivities, and there's a jam session for everybody else who wants to play. A large trailer was donated by Roadrunners to use as a stage. Folks bring their lawn chairs and coolers and sit around enjoying the music. The event has a lot to offer everyone. There are displays set up and games for the children and adults. We also have the BEST corn anyone could ever want. You are invited! Join us and be a part of this great day.

Also Featuring...

Cheers
'Cheers' was formed about three years ago when guitarist Cal Post left Cadillac Ranch, after 15 years, to pursue a band of his own. Taking fellow drummer, Ron Lister, with him they searched for a bass player vocalist to help round out the trio. When the two were hired to back-up someone on a gig, the bass player on the job turned out to be Mike Hayes. After playing a set together, they all realized they had found their lineup and 'Cheers' was formed. 'Cheers' has been playing across the Southern Ontario country circuit and rock circuit with their brand of new country, old country and classic rock. Cal and Ron also play fiddle which adds to the versatility of the show playing classics like Orange Blossom Special and more.

Also Featuring...

Ernie & Lynn
I started playing guitar about 15 years ago and formed a group called "The Silver Threads".  We played for nursing homes, hospitals, and some Jamborees.
In 2002, Lynn started singing with our group and we carried on for a couple of years. Then we decided to dissolve the group and we formed a group called "Old Tyme Gospel Singers" performing old time gospel for nursing homes etc. We also appeared on country jamborees in Lindsay, Hastings, Orillia and Baldwin.  In 2006, Lynn and I went on our own doing old time country, gospel etc. for nursing homes. We also appeared on MapleLeaf Country Jamboree in Lindsay, MapleLeaf Country Jubilee in Baldwin, Oprey Orillia,  Tex Howard's Show in Warminister, Trillium Country Jamboree in Hastings. We enjoy singing  old time
country music and gospel. We are so grateful for the opportunities in country music that have allowed us meet so many great entertainers over the years!

Also Featuring...

Tracey has recently returned to the stage and is currently the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist in a multi-talented band called "Tracey Ryan and the Forbidden".
Back to her country roots, Tracy lends her versatile voice to whatever she is performing and is currently working on releasing her first solo CD, named simply....."Tracy".

Tracy will be a feature this year at the
2010 Corn Roast.

Barbara Holtmann

Born and raised in the West end of Toronto, Ontario, Barbara Phylis Holtmann was the third of four siblings.  Always too shy to play to an audience she would play quietly in her room, writing songs, sharing them with a few close friends. "My family didn't even know I played and sang until I was almost 50,” she said!

Her inspiration were the melodic sounds of John Denver and his personal writings of people he'd met and places he'd been, guiding her to write from the heart all while dreaming for the day she could sit at the foot of the Rockies and sing.  James Taylor and Gordon Lightfoot were also a big part of her life as was Janis Joplin, but Barb says “that’s another story.”  Upon moving to Peterborough in the early 90's Barbara got involved with the local University Radio Station where she has co-hosted the Good'n Country Show on Trent Radio 92.7 fm for the last 20 years, every Saturday morning from 7am to noon, thus the beginning of her love for true country music began (never forgetting her folk roots). The Good’n Country show prides itself on the fact that they promote and welcome all local and area artists to showcase their talents at the radio station and quite a few get invited to participate in the many fundraisers they organize.
